AFL: Preliminary Finals: Hawthorn v Adelaide-Hawks in a thriller

The MCG came alive tonight as Hawthorn produced a thrilling five point victory over the Adelaide Crows in their preliminary final, 13.19.97 to 14.8.92.  In front of a crowd of more than 69,000, and despite some momentary lapses, the Hawks fended off a determined Crows outfit hellbent on making their first grand final since 1998. AFL: Finals hotting up

On the back of come-from-behind wins to Adelaide and Collingwood over the weekend, this week’s preliminary finals promise to be nothing short of spectacular.

Collingwood will face Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.  The Swans will be raring to go after their qualifying final win against the Crows, while the Magpies are coming off a triumphant, emotionally driven victory over the West Coast Eagles.
